Why aren't Facebook view counts showing?

Facebook view counts depend on Page Insights permissions, post type, and the metrics Meta returns.

If a Facebook post shows "—" in the views column, solnk retrieved the basic engagement metrics but Meta did not return a supported Page Insights view metric for that post.

Why this happens

  • The authorization does not include the required Page Insights access
  • Meta does not expose the requested insight for that Page or post type
  • A newly published post has not populated the metric yet
  • Meta has deprecated or substituted an older metric for that post

solnk currently checks Meta's available media-view, impression, and video-view metrics and stores the first supported result. If none is returned, views remain unavailable while reactions, comments, and shares can still update.

What to do

  • Confirm that the connection is a Facebook Page, not a personal profile
  • Reconnect the Page if solnk reports missing permissions
  • Wait for the next daily snapshot or request a post refresh
  • If native Facebook Insights shows a value but solnk still shows "—" after 24 hours, contact support with the post URL
