Instagram view counts depend on two things: your account type and the type of content you posted.
1. Account type must be Business or Creator
Instagram only exposes analytics data for Business and Creator accounts. Personal accounts don't receive any insights through the API — likes, comments, and views will all be missing.
How to switch account type
- Open the Instagram mobile app
- Go to your profile → Settings → Account type and tools
- Select Switch to professional account and choose Business or Creator
- Back in solnk, disconnect and reconnect your Instagram account
2. Content type affects view reporting
Even on a Business or Creator account, the metrics returned by Instagram can vary by media type and processing state:
- Reels/video — Instagram may return views, reach, interactions, shares, and saves
- Feed photos and carousels — Some insight fields may be unavailable or delayed
This is driven by Meta's API behavior, not a solnk limitation.
What to do
- If feed photos or carousels show "—", check the native post and retry after the next snapshot rather than assuming the post had zero views
- Make sure your account is set to Business or Creator and you granted all permissions when connecting in solnk
