Why are Instagram views missing on some posts?

Instagram view counts depend on your account type and the type of content you posted.

Instagram view counts depend on two things: your account type and the type of content you posted.

1. Account type must be Business or Creator

Instagram only exposes analytics data for Business and Creator accounts. Personal accounts don't receive any insights through the API — likes, comments, and views will all be missing.

How to switch account type

  1. Open the Instagram mobile app
  2. Go to your profile → SettingsAccount type and tools
  3. Select Switch to professional account and choose Business or Creator
  4. Back in solnk, disconnect and reconnect your Instagram account

2. Content type affects view reporting

Even on a Business or Creator account, Instagram doesn't report views equally for all post types:

  • Reels — Views are reported reliably ✅
  • Feed photos — Views may not always be reported ⚠️
  • Carousels — Views may not always be reported ⚠️
  • Stories — Views are reported reliably ✅

This is driven by Meta's API behavior, not a solnk limitation.

What to do

  • For consistent view data, post Reels
  • If feed photos or carousels show "—", that's expected — Instagram simply doesn't report views for those post types in a reliable way
  • Make sure your account is set to Business or Creator and you granted all permissions when connecting in solnk
